On December, 15, 2008, SUNSGLOW shall celebrate its tenth anniversary. The celebration will be manifested by a luncheon (from 1:00PM to 4:30PM) bringing together 180 invited guests from all over the world. The venue will be Fordham University School of Law (60th Street and Columbus Avenue, New York, NY) with which SUNSGLOW has joint programming since 2006.
This manifestation of our ongoing commitment to the sanctity of the RULE OF LAW shall also be expressed in the following ways. The theme of the celebration is "Anti-Terrorism and the Law;" twelve short presentations (each 6-8 minutes) by world-wide experts on "money laundering," "the use of technology in combating terrorism," "the UN Security Council Monitoring of the Al-Qaeda and the Taliban," "What does the Rule of Law mean to young people everywhere," and the like.
The festive event will also feature bag pipers, piano players, the playing of the U.S. National Anthem, "invocations by senior clergy covering Judaism, Christianity and Islam," gifts, etc.
Dean Treanor of Fordham Law will open the event. Among the speakers will also be the Iraqi Judge who investigated Saddam Hussein for war crimes; young Egyptian judge from Cairo, Egypt, assesses "Guantanamo," and the role of non-governmental organizations in combating terrorism.
Happy 10th Anniversary, SUNSGLOW!
